Title: Virtual Piano
Post by elsimo on Nov 28th, 2002, 7:16pm
I would like to know if Midi-Ox can help me create music written directly by my keyboard. I can not play any instrument connected to my PC since my handicap only permits me to use a stylus or pencil on the keyboard keys. I want to write music and play it back. Can you give me some advice as to what software I need to install?

MIDI-OX might help to to play notes: the built in Piano Keyboard mapping is sounded from the computer keyboard.  To use this you would need to install MIDI-OX and MIDI Yoke (to connect MIDI-OX to other applications).

To record your MIDI songs you will need a sequencer.  The company I work for, Cakewalk, makes several sequencers at differing price points.  See http://www.cakewalk.com for information.  All sequencers I know of, provide a step record capability for entering music outside of real-time.

:) Jamie,
Thanks for the info. I'll try what you suggest.
