Hello everyone! Jane here :) I am new to midi. A friend recommended midi-ox to me, and I know nothing about it. That I said, I'm excited to be here, and I'm looking forward to learning a lot of cool stuff here and most especially how to get started. I would like to use Desktop Restore and Windows MIDI Monitor and Sysx Tool
Please, if anyone can show me where to begin, it'll be greatly appreciated.

Welcome.
You don't mention what you want to do with Midi. It can be used to control lots of things like lights or help with painting programs along with the normal stuff of linking musical instruments.
You can record with Midi and then take what you have recorded and get a differernt instrument to sound it. Think of it as musical note or instructions. A clarinet can play a flute line or a trombone can play cello notes.
After you have recorded the Midi you can change the pitch of one or more notes easily. You can change when the note starts, how long it is played and how loud it sounds.

You can use it to change the sound on the instrument. You can make sure that it plays in time with a video. You can stretch or shrink the music to make it fit.

Unlike audio (wav or mp3), Midi files are very small and don't take up much space on your hard disk or USB drive.
People all over the world do lots of different things with Midi every day.
