i downloaded a patch (.syx file)from Astation user group,loaded and sent it in midi ox to Astation synth,the sysex data can be seen on the output screen in midi ox as it is being sent but the synth does not show any data being recieved.usually numbers start to run on the LCD when the Astation recieves sysex but its not recieving.Any advice please,thanks.

Do you have other .syx files that do work? It sounds like it because you know how the AStation does respond to SysEx. If the .syx file really is for your AStation and not corrupted (check the .syx header for correct manufacturer and model number), you might check that the Device number in the SysEx matches the device number set in the AStation.

None of the files i have loaded have been recognised or recieved by the Astation,one of the other members of the user group told me what happens when it recieves thats how i know what to look for,he also downloaded the same .syx file and was able to send his in midi ox.
The Astation recieves and transmits by default on channel one,will midi ox send to this by default or do i have to set something up to send on that channel?

What connection from MIDI-OX is being output back to your Synth?

Yes, as long as you have a MIDI device connected from MIDI-OX output to the AStation. Also check that Options | Pass SysEx is checked and that in the SysEx view you have several buffers configured in SysEx | Configure...

SysEx is not a channel oriented message: SysEx is sent to all open output devices by default.

changed ouputs to synth and it now works,thanks.
