Title: Streaming purple text Post by raytclark on Jun 11th, 2002, 11:57am I think I read this already, but, now I can't find where. I am using a Kurzweil K1000 keyboard (vintage '88) as input and creating sysex files ,but , too, often the monitor screens start stearming purple text. The panic button doesn't stop the bleeding, I just shut down the program. (I have both input and Output monitor open at the same time.) Lots of different things seem to start the problem. Often input at the synth side. Hope that's an acurate description. Thanks in advance for your help, awesome product! Ray |

Title: Re: Streaming purple text Post by Jamie OConnell on Jun 11th, 2002, 2:39pm I haven't got a clue? ??? What does this purple text say? If it's streaming too fast to mark and copy to the clipboard, then turn on logging and capture some of it. |

Title: Re: Streaming purple text Post by raytclark on Jun 11th, 2002, 3:14pm Input and output monitors read identical information: 0000BFC0 1 90 48 30 1 C 5 Note On 0000BFCD 1 90 41 28 1 F 4 Note On 0000C055 1 80 48 2F 1 C 5 Note Off 0000C070 1 80 41 28 1 F 4 Note Off 0000C534 1 C0 09 -- 1 -- PC: Glockenspiel 0000C548 1 C0 09 -- 1 -- PC: Glockenspiel 0000C555 1 C0 09 -- 1 -- PC: Glockenspiel 0000C566 1 C0 09 -- 1 -- PC: Glockenspiel 0000C56B 1 C0 09 -- 1 -- PC: Glockenspiel 0000C576 1 C0 09 -- 1 -- PC: Glockenspiel I pushed the program up button on the synth to get this. The line with the PC: Glockenspiel is in purple and is where the streaming starts. I have some Sysex info from Kurzweil that involves handshaking but it ask questions like dst-ID, syncN, src_Id, xSpeed, nPacks, and Psize with the note (a 14 bit value sent as two seven bit values). I hope that helps. Many thanks for your quick responce! Ray |

Title: Re: Streaming purple text Post by Jamie OConnell on Jun 13th, 2002, 12:40am It would appear that your Synth is issuing the same Program change message over and over. This is a standard (non-SysEx) MIDI message. The next time it happens try turning the Synth off and it should stop -- the power cycle should clear the stream. Perhaps there is a way to reinitialize the Synth to "cure" it. If your synth continues to do this you may need to get it serviced, or at least avoid using the program change switches. |
