Title: Finally *using* MIDI OX Post by Peter L Jones on Feb 26th, 2005, 7:16pm After years of having it running just to do MIDI merge between virtual MIDI ports, I'm finally putting MIDI OX to some real work. I got an FCB1010 footboard on eBay. I'm using it to send Program Change events, which MIDI OX uses to load up new patch maps. Each patch map sets the channel number on all(*) MIDI events to be a particular number (Prog 1 -> Chan 1, etc). This is great as I can route MIDI input by Channel number in Muzys to individual soft synths and use Program Changes to select between them! ;D (*) "all" on channels 1 to 10; I've had to add individual exclusions for each channel, 11 to 16, because you can't specify a channel range that a mapping applies to - it's either "all" or a specific channel. So the "exceptions" come first, then the mapping onto the chosen channel. (Some of the channels also get some additional mappings: the FCB1010 does note on/note off on the foot switches on down/up on the switch - I map this to CCxx 127/CCxx 0, as it only has toggle on/toggle off for CCs built in.) |
