Title: Please keep answer SIMPLE! Post by mrspeakerhead on Mar 10th, 2005, 4:41am Hi. I'm running Cubase VST24 V.5 and XGEdit (using SW60XG wavetable card) in XP. I need to run both programs together, but no matter how I try I can't seem to get MIDI-OX, Midi-Yoke, or Hublis to make the link. I'd appreciate it if someone could explain in SIMPLE terms how to do it! Thanks in advance. PS: I've read all the help files! |

Title: Re: Please keep answer SIMPLE! Post by Peter L Jones on Mar 11th, 2005, 1:48pm Draw it out on paper. Draw each bit of kit. Draw each MIDI port and label as "In" or "Out". Draw each bit of software -apart from Yoke and OX. Take a copy or draw lightly in pencil where you want the connections to run. You can only connect Out to In, of course. For hardware, allow only one connection to the MIDI port, either In or Out. If you get no problems, you're sorted. Otherwise, you need Ox and Yoke. For MIDI Yoke, you can have more (is it 4? I forget) connections to each port. MIDI OX comes in when you need to get some data appearing in MIDI Yoke, so you can use the Yoke In in more than one place. Or for combining multiple hardware Ins to a single Yoke In (via the Out, of course). |

Title: Re: Please keep answer SIMPLE! Post by mrspeakerhead on Mar 12th, 2005, 4:09am Thanks for the reply Peter - appreciated. Unfortunately it still doesn't work. Here's how I've set it up: - Loaded Midiyoke (correct version for XP). Set XGEdit input to Sound Crystal Fusion (onboard soundcard). XGEdit output to LB1. Cubase input to LB2. Cubase output to SW60XG (wavetable card). Set up like this I have an output from Cubase so long as XGEdit is running, but I can't change voices through XGEdit, or edit them. I'd be grateful if you could tell me where I'm going wrong! :) Thanks again. |

Title: Re: Please keep answer SIMPLE! Post by Peter L Jones on Mar 12th, 2005, 4:59am Can you have a search back through previous mentions of XGEdit and see if any of them help at all? It's not a product I've ever actually experienced. |
