Title: newbie, edit/save synth parameters thru midi-ox? & Post by paulmo on Feb 2nd, 2006, 6:24pm would like a midi-computer app to edit my synth (alesis qs.7) parameters (filters, arpeggios, etc.) in an easy, graphic gui, then save edits back to user banks on synth. is this what midi-ox does? or if not, anyone do this sort of thing and can recommend prog? i find working with a graphic layout like on vst's much easier and inspiring than scrolling through parameters on the 1" led screen THANKS!!! |

Title: Re: newbie, edit/save synth parameters thru midi-o Post by paulmo on Feb 2nd, 2006, 8:39pm well tried it out in gm mode because my alesis synth didn't seem to be read like line 6, yamaha synths were in prog device menu...so parameters are limited, no filters, just 'verb and chorus mod etc. noted change in sounds, but how to save edits back to synth? would like full parameter editing. also if this can work, does that vb6 arp prog work like make your own arps? wouldn't that be cool. don't know vb6 'tho. |

Title: Re: newbie, edit/save synth parameters thru midi-o Post by Jamie OConnell on Feb 4th, 2006, 11:11pm I think you're probably looking for a SysEx librarian for your Synth. MIDI-OX is NOT one of these, although it can receive and send bulk dumps. The VB6 sample is an arpeggiator: it arpeggiates notes based on chords played by the user. You need to have VB6 installed to run it though. |
