Title: Midi Buffer Full
Post by Rev85 on Jan 17th, 2013, 1:24am
Hi all,

I managed to hook up my Yamaha tx to my daw and edit the patches. Problem is, the buffer gets jammed real easy.

Probably a total noob question, but how does one reduce the midi data being sent via midiox?

Many thanks

Many patch dumps are broken up in to smaller blocks of sysex data.
So you can wait between blocks of data by...
View/Sysex...
On the Sysex window menu option Sysex/Configure...
On this dialog there is a box marked 'Delay' on the right.

Increase this value to give the buffer time to clear.
Mine is usually around 50 to 100.
It is the number of milliseconds between blocks.

It is a balance between speed of transfer (the smaller number the better) and time enough for the buffer to clear.

All the best
Royce

Thanks, much appreciated! I'll give that a try tonight. It is a great sounding little synth when it works  ;)
