Title: MIDI keyboard acting weird(need urgent help,pls) Post by Hustle056 on Oct 10th, 2013, 1:41pm Hello i need to fix my midi keyboard urgently,because otherwise i can't finish a project,a.k.a. i'm left without a job... :'( If anyone can help i'll be very grateful. So anyways i have a Casio CTK-491 MIDI keyboard hooked into a Tascam US-200 MIDI/Audio Interface,which goes into a Toshiba C655D Laptop(running Windows 7 64 bit) via a USB connection.The Casio is wired to the interface with a standart MIDI cable and it goes from Casio's MIDI OUT to Tascam's MIDI IN... The software that i use is mainly Reason 5,but this problem is exactly the same with every other software(FL Studio for example). So basically i hook up my MIDI keyboard and everything i power it up and start working on a track and everything works fine for about 10 minutes or so....after that everything goes crazy-notes start turning on/off really fast by theirself. I just want to state that i am a musician and i have absolutely no idea how to program midi and such... Anyways so i started MIDI-OX and monitored what's going on upon input.And as said before everything works fine and when suddenly the whole thing bugs out it either gives me a C-0 Note Off spam non-stop,a C-0 Key Aftertouch Spam,or some strange Pitch Bend and my keyboard doesn't even have a Pitch Bend wheel.... So today i tested it again and it printed this when it bugged out: 002F4ED3 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4ED3 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4ED3 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EDE 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EDE 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EDF 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EE7 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EE8 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EE8 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EE8 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EE8 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EE8 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EE8 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EE9 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EF3 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EF4 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EF4 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EF9 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EFA 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4EFA 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F07 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F08 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F08 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F08 1 -- FB -- -- -- --- Continue 002F4F0C 1 -- BD 6E AD 14 --- Control Change 002F4F0D 1 -- BD 09 3E 14 --- Control Change 002F4F13 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F13 1 -- BD 3F BB 14 --- Control Change 002F4F13 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F13 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F1A 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F1A 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F1A 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F1B 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F23 1 -- EF 0A 04 16 --- Pitch Bend 002F4F24 1 -- EF 00 0A 16 --- Pitch Bend 002F4F24 1 -- EF 04 80 16 --- Pitch Bend 002F4F25 1 -- B0 22 A0 1 --- Control Change 002F4F25 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F25 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F2E 1 -- FB -- -- -- --- Continue 002F4F3C 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset 002F4F3C 1 -- EF BF BF 16 --- Pitch Bend 002F4F3C 1 -- FF -- -- -- --- System Reset And it basically just kept spamming that stuff...i have no idea what that stuff is and i don't have any cash to buy better gear at the moment....if anyone has a solution for my problem please let me know i'll be very thankful! Peace,one love! |

Title: Re: MIDI keyboard acting weird(need urgent help,pl Post by Breath on Oct 10th, 2013, 6:10pm I have only 2 suggestions. The first is that your Midi cable from the Casio out is faulty. Try swapping it with another cable. As it happens after some time it is more likely that there is a problem with the Casio. My first guess is that the Midi Out socket on the inside needs re-soldering, but it could be a worse problem. Grab the plug at the Casio end of the Midi cable (while plugged in) and give it a gentle wiggle. If the problem starts when you wiggle it then the socket inside the Casio is likely to be the problem. Try another keyboard if you have one, to see if it is in fact the Casio. All the best Royce |

Title: Re: MIDI keyboard acting weird(need urgent help,pl Post by Hustle056 on Oct 11th, 2013, 6:06pm Turns out it was a faulty MIDI cable ;D I did a bit of testing last night and it seems to be working good now it worked atleast 30 minutes without any problem :D |
