Hi,
I've got a old set of Medeli dd502 drums. The drum brain is pretty simple and there doesn't seem to be anyway to adjust velocity for crosstalk. Theirfore I'm getting alot of cross-talk when I play on them. I didn't really notice until I tried to play midi notes on my computer. Alot of vibrations seem to set off other pads.

Is there any way of using Midi-Ox to filter out all pads with say less than 10 velocity?

Sure.
I assume you know how to connect you midi signal through MidiOX

Open up the Data Filter window (Options/Data Mapping)
If there is anything there press the clear button
Click Insert and a new window opens.

On the first line
Any ........... Note On.. -1 .. -1 .. 10.. 127
Match Input ..Note On.. -1 .. -1 ..-1 .. -1

The first line says "If there is a Note On message on any channel with any note number with velocity above 10 then..."

The second line says "Output a Note On message with the same channel, the same note number and the same velocity."

-1 = anything

Press OK and on the window below check the 'Turn Map On
(after OK)" and then press OK.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I'm new to midi-ox. I just want to make sure of my setup.
I've got Win XP.
Under settings in audio devices: USB Device is default midi playback device.

Midi OX:
Under midi devices I've got:
Midi Inputs: USB Device
Midi Outputs: Midi Yoke 1

I entered the line you gave me in the data filter.

In the other program it shows midi yoke 1 as input with a signal and everything. But when I check my inputs it still registers hits above 10 velocity.
Any advice is appreciated!

Hi

Ok, I've have had a look at the manual.

To do what you want to do you need this kind of setup

DD502->MidiInterface In-> MidiOx -> MidiInterface Out -> Sound module.

You cannot do it with the DD502 alone.
As the DD502 does not have a Midi In to to make the module sound, you will need an external sound module to make this work and you can't listen to the audio output of the DD502 as you will still hear the 'crosstalk'

So if you are using an external sound module/synth...

Options/Midi Devices
Select all the "USB Device" in the input and output

In the Midi Port Routing window (View/Port Routing) left click on an USB Device Input and drag it to the USB Device output.

With the Data Mapping described before this should take the DD502 midi events, remove any note event below 10 in velocity and send them to your sound module .

Your going to shoot me, but I found a setting in the actual program ::). My sincere apologies.

So you can adjust the triggering level on the unit itself?
I didn't see that in the manual. Well done.
