Title: Voices on Korg M1 still messed up after download Post by hmp49 on Jan 22nd, 2022, 5:41am After a lot of struggle, I managed to push the SYSEX file from the Korg site through MIDI-OX to my M1. But while the download apparently completed (after dealing with many "out of memory" messages and decreasing buffers to 2 64 bytes from 32 256), the voices are still not what they should be, and appear to be unchanged. They are very similar to each other, without choral or symphonic voices. Do I definitely have a problem with the M1 (like a capacitor that needs replacement etc) or is it possible that there are parameters I can change within MIDI-OX that might make the difference I should add that the primary reason I embarked on this adventure was to replace a 30 year old battery. I hadn't used there keyboard for many years, I was passing it down to my son and grandson, it didn't register initially that the voices were screwed up before the battery change and were unchanged after the 49K SYSEX download from the Korg website |

Title: Re: Voices on Korg M1 still messed up after downlo Post by Breath on Jan 22nd, 2022, 5:30pm Hi The M1 can be a bit tricky with sysex, especially if you haven't used it for a while. Here is a recent thread that might help. http://www.midiox.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=query;action=display;num=1628786559;start=1#1 You can also do a search (up the top of the forum window. Home Help Search...) for 'M1 sysex' and set the day range at the bottom for the search to 1000 for other solutions. Hope that helps. If not post again. All the best Royce |

Title: Re: Voices on Korg M1 still messed up after downlo Post by hmp49 on Jan 22nd, 2022, 7:23pm Thanks, I'm giving up, I think it's like trying to save the life of somone who should be in hospice. Likely to cause more pain than benefit. I had a friend that came over with a Mac, temporarily looked good, with the low numbered voices appearing as they should be. But then I found almost all of the rest of the voices not working at all, and the INIT light is stuck. I managed to get it back to where it was before that (but the INIT light is still stuck) I think it's better to let my family enjoy it as it is before I destroy it completely trying to save it. Some of the buttons (up/down etc) are getting funky and I;m working around that |
