Title: can you do this??? Post by huzo on Oct 4th, 2007, 1:21pm can midiox browse keyboard files??you know what i mean? to open my keyboard as if it was a drive on my computer or something like that?because i got with my yamaha psr-s500 a music soft downloader software and i can access my keyboards flash memory, usb memory, and a sistem memory..but in the system memory i only get yamaha psr s-500.bup file which i think is the sysex file of my keyboard where all the sounds and regs are stored.now what i want to do is access system memory to add new sounds because i cant do it through the software i got...i dont even know what extensions for sounds are on my keyboard...so iwould like to experiment with that |

Title: Re: can you do this??? Post by Peter L Jones on Oct 4th, 2007, 4:44pm The data is called "System Exclusive" because it's exclusive data for a specific system. Without knowing every possible system and the definition of its System Exclusive data, MIDI OX couldn't browse that data. (For example, I've got a TrapKAT. I can download the settings from it as Sysex data. I had to write my own editor to be able to change the settings on my PC.) |

Title: Re: can you do this??? Post by Peter L Jones on Oct 5th, 2007, 10:57am The details of the SysEx layout came from the manufacturer. The source for the program is on Sourceforge: http://sf.net/projects/trapkat-editor All the moving SysEx data in and out of the TrapKAT is done by MIDI OX. |
