Desktop Restore corrupts Windows Shell

I have found a very frustrating problem with Desktop Restore. When renaming a newly created Windows 10 (64-bit) folder using File Explorer it will freeze for about one minute before completing the function. Only the File Explorer window doing the renaming will freeze; another File Explorer window will operate normally. There is no problem when renaming pre-existing older folders. The problem only appears to happen when the folder Create and Rename is done in a single operation; that is renamed while the new folder name is still highlighted. Unfortunately, the worst part of this behaviour is that uninstalling Desktop Restore does not resolve the problem. It appears that Windows Shell has been permanently changed. I have experienced this now on three different systems, and until now had difficulty identifying the cause. I built a new PC and monitored the behaviour as I installed drivers and other system-type software. The problem only appeared after installing Desktop Restore, and uninstalling did not remove the problem (a System Restore did restore the function - but caused other problems!) I suspect this is a timing issue because occasionally, the problem does not occur, and the probability of freezing varies between systems. It may be a coincidence, but I have only experienced this problem on very fast systems using PCIe NVMe SSD’s for system drives. Can anyone suggest a way of removing the problem after Desktop Restore?
