Custom XG Drum Layout

This is a custom layout of XG drums for a 4-octave keyboard. Some sounds have been left out on the basis of taste. I hope you like it and find it more rational and intuitive to work with than the original XG drum layout.

The map maps MIDI Note Numbers on channels 10 and 9 (i.e. they remain on the original channel). You can find a detailed and illustrative description of the custom layout of all the 9 basic XG Drum Kits in the document “ML_XG-CustomDrumLayout_9-KIT.doc”

A simple example:

Attach the Map to the Keyboard that is connected to your XG Synth (in Port Mapping ((menu: Options>MIDI Devices)) so that the tree looks like this:

- XG Synthesizer
- Keyboard
+ Channels
+ System
ML_XG-CustomDrumLayout_c10,9_n36-83_wNoteOff
