'There are no midi input devices'???

Hi Newbie here. I'm using Midi-OX for software/patch upgrades for my guitar gear (TC G Major, Behringer FCB1010). All was previously well using Bome's SendEX, then my laptop was stolen... anyway, I've downloaded MidiOX and all appears well, but it doesn't recognize my Midiman 1x1 as an input or output device. I've tried the options/midi devices - nothing there of interest (aka midiman anything). My midiman LED glows happily, so it appears the midiman drivers are correctly installed. Unsure what to do next - any ideas? Any help appreciated! Chris

If no drivers are showing up in Options | MIDI Devices... it would seem that drivers are not properly installed. Did you install drivers for your Midiman 1x1? Do drivers show up in Windows Control Panel? Check Sounds and Audio Devices, [Audio] TAB, MIDI Music Playback. Are the drivers listed there? Check System > Hardware > [Device Manager] look under Sound, video and Game controllers. Is your device listed there?

Looks like you're right - based on what you said there aren't any drivers installed. (When I put the Midiman in the USB port it requested the driver CD and it looked like it auto-installed. After about a minute it said 'success' but ... I guess it lied.) I've tried to re-install, but when I go to the add/remove programs in my control panel it looks for an installation program on the Midiman driver CD and can't find it. How do I add the drivers if they won't auto-install? Chris

Try using 'Add New Hardware' in the Control Panel, or better yet, ask at the MIDIMan web-site.

Well I have the same probelm here with a midex 8 from steinberg. I have checked both the control panel and also the device manager.... both seem fine. It was working before so this is strange. I don't know what the probelm is but is really annoying. I have the emu xlead and really need to save some sysex multisetups on it to continue to compose music arggg!
