How to get MIDIBar output routed to MIDI-OX input?

Hello,

I would like to play a MIDI file using the MIDIBar player and be able to select the patch that plays in MIDI-OX.  Problem is, I can't seem to route MIDIBar output to any input of MIDI-OX.

My output options in MIDIBar are:
Default (Mapper)
Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth
BASSMIDI Driver

My only available input option in MIDI-OX is "MIDI-OX Event Port."

When I use my laptop keyboard as the MIDI controller I can get different instruments to play with MIDI-OX Event Port routed to BASSMIDI Driver (my preferred soft synth).  However, when I try to use MIDIBar to play a MIDI file, it plays only the 000 patch (Acoustic Grand Piano).  This happens with either Default (Mapper) or BASSMIDI Driver selected as MCI Port in MIDIBar.  With Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth it sounds even worse.

It seems like I'm just not configuring the MIDIBar to output data to MIDI-OX in the right way.  Who can help me solve this?

Thanks!
-Brian

Hi Brian
Midibar is a separate program from MidiOx.
MidiOx just starts it. You can run it separately from MidiOx if you want to.

To get the Midi data sent from a program into MidiOx you need a driver like MidiYoke by MidiOx's Jamie O'Connell (get this this from the same download page you got MidiOx).
There is also loopMidi by Tobias Erichson or LoopBe.
They all are 'virtual' Midi device drivers.
Just think of them as Midi cables inside of your PC.

Install the driver and then start MidiOx and go to the menu Options /  Midi devices and select the input and output ports of these new devices as you did for your hardware midi interface.
Start MidiBar and make the output, say, MidiYoke 1.
When you play the Midifile in Midibar you should see the data coming in to MidiOx through the MidiYoke 1 in port.

Connect MidiYoke 1 In to your midi Interface out port (Midi Port Routing window) and you should hear the Midi file being played.
On the Midi Port Routing window connect MidiOx Event Port to the same Midi interface output.

Menu View /Control Panel...
The changes you make on the new dialog will be sent out the MidiOx Event Port and mixed with the Midi data coming in from MidiYoke 1 to your Midi interface.

MidiBar ----> MidiYoke 1 Out ===== MidiYoke 1 In-----> MidiOx (add Control Panel Midi data) ----> Your Midi Interface Out

All the best
Royce
