Newbie, CC# 87-90

My Korg Karma uses CC#87-90 to for Chord Trigger. I turn off local control on the Karma, and all the other "non-standard" CC's get through (i.e. 14, 22-31, 85-86). They all show up in the Output Monitor but those four dont seem to get sent back. Is this a bug or did I miss something somewhere? Thank you so much for your time and this great utility. Aaron

Make sure you aren't filtering those controllers in the MIDI filter. I just tested it by hooking 2 instances of MIDI-OX together using a MIDI Yoke port, and I was able to transfer each controller# 85 - 94 from one instance to another, so it seems to be working properly.

Hmm, I double checked it. Only Timing Clock is filtered. The problem must be somewhere else. I'm using an old Soundblaster PC128, maybe updating the driver will work. Other than that I have no idea. I have no other way to send those CC#'s to test it. If it's not out of the pervue of this forum, where should I go next to fix this? Thank you for your time Aaron 7/12

Another thing to check is to verify that the Karma will respond to CC#87-90 for Chord Trigger for an external source, rather than just internally. See if there's a configuration switch for these in the Karma. A method to test your SB interface: Launch 2 MIDI-OX instances. For the 1st choose your SB external device as output. For the 2nd choose your SB external device as input. Now take a single MIDI cable and attach the SB Input to the SB Output (making a hardware loopback). Now open MIDI-OX View | Control Panel choose CC#1 and dial in a value. It should be sent to and appear in the 2nd instance Monitor (both monitors actually). Now try CC#87-90. If they all work, you can assume your interface is not at fault.

What awesome customer service. Thank you so much. All the KARMA Real TIme Control Knobs have assignable CC#'s, and the numbers are from the page where they are assigned (they are off by default). I set up two instances of MidiOx as you suggested, with the only difference I went "in the in" and "out the thru" of my synth, as that was the only way to set up a hardware loop. It worked, CC#'s 87-90 went through (showed up on both monitors). Now it gets curious. I assume that the synth is sending the CC's because they show up in the monitor when I physically press the Chord Trigger Button, yet the synth does not respond. However, if I send the CC's from the control panel of MidiOx, the synth does respond. So synth works, interface works, CC's work, MidiOx works... yet it doesn't work. huh? Again, thank you so much. The only other possibility I can think of at the moment is that the Karma does more than just send CC#87 - 90 when you push the chord trigger buttons. Try checking the Korg website or customer service to get more answers.
