Happy new year! Well it was until I found out that Midi-ox and my novation synth aren't talking the same sysex dialect. Spent hours programming the synth, but uploading sysex files from Midi-ox to the synth only gives me about half the patches I programmed. Just using Midi-ox as a sysex librarian, but wish that it would work with my synth. Is it due to the way novation pack some of the sysex data, or NRPN data? Does anyone know if the X-station comes with a librarian utility? thnakxs

MIDI-OX only provides for generic bulk SysEx transfer. It is not a SysEx librarian, although you can save and reload bulk SysEx dumps. NRPN's are standard MIDI controller messages and have nothing to do with SysEx at all. MIDI-OX will accurately transfer any SysEx data loaded into it, but has no knowledge of what that data contains beyond the fact that it is a SysEx message (starts with F0 and ends with F7).

Hmm. Thanks 4 the reply. Any ideas on a good universal sysex librarian?
