MIDI-OX stops listening to device after idle

Hi, I think this is a MIDI-OX issue rather than an issue with my devices, as this didn't happen when I wasn't routing them through MIDI-OX. Basically, if I leave my computer for a while (Windows 10), without it ever sleeping, and it has my devices (a midi keyboard and a midi breath controller) still connected via MIDI-OX; when I come back MIDI-OX no longer registers their input, and I have to unplug the devices, quit MIDI-OX, replug the devices and restart MIDI-OX for it to register them again. Is there any way to prevent this happening? Thanks!

Hi If win10 is disconnecting then reconnecting a Midi USB device, MidiOx will loose its pointer to the device driver's address. When MidiOx opens up a device it gets the location of the driver and says 'hi' to the driver installed by Win10 when it started the USB device. Win10 disconnects the USB device and the drivers that MidiOx is connected to remain in memory, but are no longer connected to the USB hardware. Win10 connects the USB device and so loads the driver in again but to a different location in memory. MidiOx still thinks it is connected to a valid driver but it isn't. This might help you. https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-windows-10-turning-usb-device s Stay well. Royce

Brilliant, much appreciated, I did have usb suspend enabled so I've disabled it now and hopefully that will prevent this happening. Thanks so much, take care
