Midi Ox seems to crash my Win11 desktop/Focusrite

Hi, I am completely ignorant of Midi Ox so please direct me to a different subforum if this is ignorance rather than a bug. Anyway I was instructed to use it a few days ago to enable my Focusrite 18i8 2nd Gen audio interface mid DIN out port to work, which it did temporarily. But when Midi Ox, 7.02.372 32 Bit Midi Library, was closed, 18i8 port lost its ability to output from its midi out, so I kept it on. In maybe half hour Windows suddenly crashed and rebooted, no error message. On reboot, Focusrite device had to be rebooted fwiw. It seemed to me the crash was caused by Midi Ox so I reenabled it and 18i8 and sure enough Windows crashed again. I'll contact Focusrite Monday but also wanted to ask this forum, unless it's a technical forum I have no business in. If this is a bug, I don't see it in a quick search. If a config error, advice would be appreciated. I imagine there are ways to get 18i8 to work without Midi Ox, if this isn't working for me other advice on lasting midi config for amateurs while beyond Forum focus I know, might be helpful. ---------------- Update: I've experimented with running Midi Ox without any virtual midi out set, and with Focusrite set and running but with no midi active, and my system doesn't crash. When it crashed earlier, first my midi general out crashed, that is, I lost any midi signal to Ableton or Focusrite at the same time, presmably corrupt data crashed iConnect Midi, with Win11 crashing [screen just went black before rebooting] a few minutes later. So I think maybe Midi Ox receiving not-working midi caused the crash. The not-working midi seemed caused quickly by running midi with Midi Ox, though. I guess I should reproduce it next session.

Hi You are most welcome to ask any questions that are Midi or MidiOx related. I have a Focusrite 2i4 2nd gen and a 8i6 3rd gen and both have Midi in and out and work perfectly. I don't use the Microsoft Midi drivers that came with the Windows version that I use because they have led to a few problems. So I always download the Focusrite drivers from their website and they work perfectly. What version of Win11 do you use? (Home, Pro , Education, Enterprise, SE etc) I though that a lot of the Midi problems were supposed to be fixed in Win 11 (but I would still download the drivers from Focusrite). Let me know how you get on All the best Royce
