Title: Memory issue in Win7? Post by BenSounds on Jan 19th, 2017, 3:20pm I'm trying to get MIDI-Ox working in Windows 7. At the moment of this problem, the only MIDI device connected is a USB keyboard, and I'm trying to troubleshoot issues with MIDI stream from it. When I try to set it up as either an input device or an output device I get an error message that reads: Q25 There is not enough memory available for this task. Quit one or more applications to increase available memory, and then try again Does this mean system memory? I had no other applications running when I first tried this, now all I have is Chrome and this BB. I tried increasing buffer size and numbers, to no avail. The system is an Intel Core i5 with 8 gig of ram. Any thoughts? |

Title: Re: Memory issue in Win7? Post by Breath on Jan 19th, 2017, 6:11pm Hi You will get this error if your midi interface / keyboard uses a single client driver and you already have an application connected to the interface. If your USB keyboard uses the Microsoft Midi driver (which is single client NOT multi client) then you will have to do a work around. Or perhaps you could write to the maker of the keyboard to see if they have a better Multi Client driver. If your keyboard didn't come with a driver disk and you just connected to your PC and it worked then you are using the troublesome MS driver. Work around: Install MidiYoke (grab it where you got MidiOx). MidiYoke IS multi client so you connect up your keyboard to MidiYoke this converts it to Multi Client. Only have MidiOx running. Connect your Keyboard In to MidiYoke1 Out and MidiYoke2 In to your keyboard Out . n the port routing window. You can now start another Midi program and its Midi input should be MidiYoke1 and its output is MidiYoke2. I hope this helps Royce Craven |
