MIDI-Yoke worked, then stopped.

I am attempting to use MIDI-Yoke in Win ME with Cakewalk Home Studio and Beatnik Editor, so that I can hear the Beatnik sounds while I am working with sequences. It worked fine for about 30 minutes, then stopped. I can play through Cakewalk to Beatnik with my MIDI keyboard controller, but the sequences will not sound in Beatnik. I have MIDI-Yoke Junction 1 selected as a MIDI output device, which worked at first. The MIDI-Yoke icon appears in the lower right. I have uninstalled, then reinstalled both MIDI-Yoke and Beatnik editor to no avail. Any thoughts?

| I'm not sure what you're referring to as MIDI Yoke has no icon? It's simply a MIDI driver. MIDI-OX has an icon and is a useful utility to prove that MIDI Yoke is working (or not). Download and install MIDI-OX. Choose MIDI Yoke 1 as Output from Home Studio (HS). Choose MIDI Yoke 1 as Input to MIDI-OX. Play your sequence in HS: you should see the data show up in the MIDI-OX INPUT Monitor. If it does, MIDI Yoke is working properly.

Oops, maybe the little icon I'm referring to has always been there while running MIDI. I noticed it and thought it was related to MIDI-Yoke. It is a tiny icon on the lower right with all the other icons that show what programs are running. Hopefully I am a better musician than computer tech. I am not running MIDI-Ox. Does anyone have any ideas about how to make MIDI-Yoke work again?

Please let me apologize for my last post. I hadn't read your response carefully enough before I responded. I'm pretty exhausted right now. I tried using MIDI Ox as you suggested and sure enough, MIDI Yoke is doing it's thing. It turns out that the MIDI input device in Beatnik editor (in file menu, preferences) was somehow changed. Thank you for your help!
