Hi Friends,
I'm new to this forum,I have Yamaha psr-740 ,now i'm using using my keyboard for playing Miditzer organ sound fonts using computer and at present i'm using the mouse to select stops on the computer screen but i'm finding very difficult to use the mouse during live performance and there is a facility in the Miditzer software programme that i can control or select stops with the incoming midi messages generated from a connected keybard.
My psr-740 keybard has so many control switches and they generate different MIDI messages when the panel buttons are pressed and now i wan't to control the computer organ stops using the switches and controls of my psr-740 and i don't know what midi messages my psr-740 is  generating when different buttons are pressed or released.
So can anyone please help me how can i record midi messages of my psr-740 keyboard and let me know how can i control the organ stops with the midi messages generated by psr-740.

Thanks,
sunny

You can find out what MIDI messages different buttons on your PSR-740 generate.

Download MIDI-OX and attach it to your keyboard.  Press Buttons.  See what messages are displayed in the Monitor.

Now the second problem i'm facing is that now i unable to know how can i control the stops of miditzer organ     www.miditheatreorgan.com
As there is a facility in the miditzer programme that we can control the organ stops with the incoming midi meassages.so will you please tell me how can i control the organ stops with the midi messages generated by PSR-740 keyboard?

Thanks in advance,

I went and looked at the organ pages.  The author says: Quote:
You can activate the combination pistons with MIDI Program Change Messages.  The first ten (three) messages set the combinations.  Use channel 1 for the Solo combinations, 2 for Accompaniment, and 3 for the Pedal.  The eleventh message on any channel is the General Cancel.

That sounds to me like MIDI Patch Change (Program Change) messages are used to change the sounds.  For instance MIDI Patch Change 0 on channel 1 sets the 1st Solo Combination.  MIDI Patch change 1 on channel 2 sets the 2nd Accompaniment combination.  Does your PSR keyboard issue Program Change messages?
