Can midiox fix this problem? please help

Using a Akai MPX8 sampler from a Roland HD-1 vDRUMS electronic
kit some of the notes don't get played by the sampler when
triggering 2 or more pads at the same time.

I've tried filtering out basically everything and sending everything to channel 10 does pick up the missing notes but creates an additional note for every note played.. Anyone had this problem or maybe point me in the right direction?

Thanks

I would test the output of the V1

Have you checked  ...
All Note messages from the V1 are on channel 10
All Note numbers correctly mapped to the MPX9
NoteOn velocity too low for the MPX8 (trigger velocity setting)
NoteOff message (or NoteOn with 0 velocity) for each note
Is there a parameter on the V1 to set the trigger level? Try adjusting it.

Not sure what you are filtering outHuh
Why would you be sending and changing any non channel 10 Midi message to channel 10Huh

All the best

this is the only thing i have done that had any results.. i did try filtering out the active sensing messages from the vkit, thought it might be flooding the sampler but didnt make any difference.. also loaded sampler with extremely small samples to make sure it wasn't being overloaded.. i am able to set all the pads to the sampler's pads and the sampler instructions says channel 10.. some of the vdrums are sent on channel 1..  ..i do get all the note played but for every stroke i hear 2 notes being played when simultaneously playing 2 pads or the kick etc..

i am totally new to this.. please could you explain the min max value, more specifically, what is column 1 and what is column 2? also i don't really know how to diagnose what the problem might be.. if you could tell me what data you want to hear i can post a dump..

It looks like there are problems with the data coming in.

You are only getting one Note Off messages for every 3  Note On messages. You should be getting a matching NoteOff for every Note on  OR NoteOn with velocity = 0 which is the same as NoteOff.
The D2 notes (snare) look OK it is the constant C2 (Kick) with just Note on that is the problem.

As well the HD-1, according to the manual should only ever put out notes on channel 10.

As it is the kick that is giving you the problem perhaps check its connections. Even if you are not playing the kick it might be getting the vibrations from when you hit the snare.

I have had some strange Midi messages from bad Midi cables, so you might like to swap or borrow some other Midi cables.

It could be that the Midi interface to your PC is the problem.

Is it a cheap Ebay thing?
I have bought a couple of these and always had bad results.

You might need something from Roland, Korg , Yamaha, Midisport (M-Audio), Behringer etc.

Can you find someone with a different Midi interface that you could borrow to test it out?
Or take the HD1 Kit to someone else's place (perhaps a generous music store) and try it out.

If you can and you see the same problem then it is the HD-1 at fault and it needs to be repaired.

All the best

When I connect the vDRUMS to a Yamaha QY10 sequencer everything works fine.. but using the usb midi(cheap ebay :)) i get the double note prob with the sequencer, thanks for figuring that out.. wonder why i cannot use the mpx8 directly plugged in to the vDRUMs, same cable(cheap) i used with the QY10 but misses notes with the mpx8.. i ordered a nice cable.. hopefully that will do the trick..
