PC Windows 10 Sysex file to ENsoniq VFX-SD

I have successfully transferred a single patch (2KB) from PC to VFX-SD via USB -->Midi Cable. Works perfectly. However, when I try to send a bank (63kb) I get a memory error and it does send a partially 6+ patches not an entire bank. Can anyone please provide suggestions to correct? Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
sorry about the late reply . Looks like I missed your question.

You can change the buffers and / or how fast the sysex is sent. That usually helps.

Goto View / Sysex and on that window select Sysex / Configure..
On this dialog there are low level Input and Output buffers.

Rarely an issue on modern computers.
Normally 256 Bytes is a big enough buffer with 32 for both input and output buffer.

The older synths are the problem because of the slow speed that the synth could write to memory.

As you are able to dump a couple of patches I would just start to increase the "Delay after F7".
As you probably know F7 is the last piece a of data in a sysex message
It is likely that for the VFX-SD each patch is sent as one sysex message
So this will put a time gap between patches to allow the VFX to write the patch to memory.

There might be something in the user manual but I would try 100mSec and work your way up.
Don't forget to set the checkbox so MidiOx uses the delay.
Is slows the dump down, but only by a few seconds.

All the best
Royce

Royce many thanks...for your reply. Based on your suggestion, I increased to 100ms and  256 bytes/100 buffers and it worked. You are my hero, again thank you.
