More than 16 memory presets on Casio Cz-3000

Hey! I've been searching for this topic everywhere for the past 2 hours and I'm kinda lost. Maybe someone can help me?

I've installed MIDI-OX and tried to put some presets into my plugged-in Casio CZ-3000. It has 32 slots for factory presets (which are probably permanent) and 32 slots of internal memory.

It goes like this
A B C D
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
which makes a total of 32

Whenever I send SysEx to my Casio, it only fills 16 slots -
A 1-8
B 1-8

The rest
C 1-8
D 1-8
remains empty.

How can I install presets onto slots #17-32?

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Best

I searched for information for you, although I don't own a Casio.
No clear info on your problem, I'm afraid, and the Casio sysex is a bit strange.

Are you sure there are 32 patches in the sysex you are sending?
Do the presets you loaded into A & B have the correct names or are they really the patches from C & D banks over written on A & B ?

try this...
a) dump and save the current 32 patches from the Casio via sysex to your computer (you should be able to use MidiOx)
b) change the names in a couple of the Presets and save them to places in C & D banks.
c) try loading the original sysex back and see if that restores all the names in C & D.

If it does then the other sysex is the likely problem (not the correct patch number id or only 16 presets).
If it doesn't restore them then it must be a problem with either the sysex loading method (change a parameter to be able to write to C & D ?) or possibly a hardware fault.

Let me know how you get on.

I have two SysEx files. Leads1 and Pads2;
- Leads1 contains 16 presets,
- Pads2 contains 8 presets.

I want to install them so I have a total of 24 presets (Leads1 and then Pads2) The thing is I don't know how to do it.

Should I merge SysEx files somehow? Or do some kind of data mapping?

Thanks for your input,

I think I see the problem (maybe)

I would try ...
Load your Pads 2 sysex into the CZ and copy all of the A bank presets to C bank (you may have to do this one by one. ie A1 to C1, A2 to C2 .. A8 to C8 ). So now you should have all the Pads 2 in C. It might be good to save this.

Load in the Leads sysex and they should go into Bank A and B.
On the assumption the 16 patches of the Leads don't have any extras (eg perhaps the default factory presets) in bank C you should have both Pads 2 and Leads.

You should be able to tell from the file size. The Pads 2.syx should half the size of the Leads.syx and that should be half the size of a full dump of 4 banks.

Otherwise you might have to look for a library program for the CZ.

Let me how you get on.
All the best
Royce
