Title: sysex files to Wavestation part 2........
Post by nikka75 on Jan 4th, 2005, 3:51pm
It help´t to adjust the time after F7 and between the buffers. Now it transfers the file to the Korg wavestation normally but.... when the progress bar has gone to 100 % and it doesn´t transfer the file anymore, then there appears a error message int the wavestation: SYSEX CHECKSUM ERROR. What´s wrong. I´ve also tried adjusting the low level output buffers, both size and num. :(

A Checksum error could be an error in the original file, or a transmission error caused by a faulty driver or hardware MIDI interface.

You should try lengthening the delay to make sure it is not caused by that.

You can test your hardware MIDI interface by setting up a hardware loopback: connect the MIDI Out port to the MIDI In Port with a MIDI cable.  Then open 2 instances of MIDI-OX.  In the 1st MIDI-OX select the MIDI Out port as Output, and load the SysEx file in the SysEx view.  In the 2nd MIDI-OX select the MIDI In port as Input, open its SysEx view, and choose  SysEx | Receive Manual Dump....

Send the File from the 1st MIDI-OX.  After the dump is completed and received in the 2nd MIDI-OX, Select the dump (Select All) and Copy it.  Then Paste it into the Display Window in the 1st MIDI-OX, and choose SysEx |  Compare Windows.  The data should be identical in both -- if not, there is likely a problem with the MIDI Interface or its driver.
