Chords, Dump, Note to change maps, & vars

Hi, Several items in one hit. A few things on my wishlist for one of the best things for tech/musicians .. All these years, and all those new software offerings, and this is still an indespensable tool. My 1st wish.... Can maps be triggered with notes rather than program changes. Playing live, it is much easier (and less disruptive) to set up a keyboard split on a particular channel and use notes to trigger them. Of course, I could use MidiOx to convert notes to pgm messages and then use those to trigger the map changes - but would it work? My 2nd wish.... I found the chord and arp features cute. After a while I found them pretty useful. Can they be triggered from a midi keyboard? Playing live means (for me) the computer is tucked away out of reach, and needs to be driven by remote control - ie. everything needs to be driven from the midi keyboards. My 3rd wish..... Would LOVE a feature where (even only a few) "variables" were available in the mapping function. This is available (albeit in a limited and confusing way) in Bohm's little midi tool. Any of the usual events would trigger them being set (as a constant or based on the event triggering them), and they could be subsequently tested. To make them really useful, based on the test, they could trigger alternate maps (which would act as subroutines). I guess, the adjunct to that would be a feature in the maps that allowed a "return to calling map". As well, vars would be able to be substituted into sysex strings. This would enable such little goodies as: - set up a "shift" midi key - setting and remembering various parameters inside OX - calculating the map to go to, based on several conditions. - more control over sysex strings - which could therefore be "constructed" My 4th wish... allowing events to trigger: a) a named sysex file to be loaded and "played". This would be great for storing and then restoring sysex dumps of the type most synths use to store patches, setups, etc. b) any named midi file, which could therefore allow "loops" to be triggered (and some way of sending them transpose and tempo settings would be icing).

Hi, i can only second your first wish. My controller (tascam us 428 and soon JL Cooper cs32) sends only note numbers or fixed controller values on its buttons. So when i want to use any button to change a map in Midi OX, i would have to transfom them into program changes first, which makes things more complicated. Note numbers or controller values to change maps would be great. Cheers electrofux
