My biggest problem with MIDIOX

I love MidiOx and it is invaluable to my setup, but there is one thing about it that really makes my life difficult sometimes. I use DataMaps inserted between specific Input Ports and Output Ports in the MIDI Devices dialog EXTENSIVELY. All of these connections are saved in the registry as part of the DevicePresets, which is fine. The problem is that if I change my setup, or need to move the setup to another computer which has a different configuration of MIDI Input and Output ports, all of my DevicePresets are essentially "hard-wired" to a particular hardware configuration. I have to recreate everything, or else I have to carefully edit the registry file and change the names of the various Ports. In addition, if I simply boot up the system with a different hardware setup, any Input or Output ports that are not currently connected do not even appear in the MIDI Devices dialog. I truly wish that this aspect of the setup could be virtualized such that, for example, the connections were stored in the registry with reference to Custom Port Names. In that way, all the connections could remain intact on any system, and reconfiguring the Custom Port Names could allow for moving devices to different ports, changing hardware, etc. I'm sure there are other enhancements that could make the system even more flexible, but the one I mentioned seems the simplest. The important thing would be for the user interface to allow, conceptually, for setting up a set of connections between various Input Ports and Output Ports, including the optional insertion of DataMaps, without reference to particular MIDI Ports, and allow the assignment of the Ports to specific MIDI Ports separately. In the event that I am overlooking something, I would greatly appreciate knowing what it is!
