MidiYoke and Vienna (soundfont editor)

I've been running MIDIYoke on a Win98 machine for years with no problems. I just installed the XP version on my new XP machine. Suddenly in SoundFont editor, Vienna, only the MIDIYoke ports 1-8 show up as MIDI inputs on it, but not my SBLive! Audigy Card external input!. The external input still shows up (along with the MIDIYoke ports) on Microsoft Producer and Awave Studio. I tried deinstalling and reinstalling both MIDIYoke and the Vienna app with no change. When I deinstalled MIDIYoke, the Audigy external port came back... then dissapeared again after re-installation of MIDIYoke. This never happened on Win98. Can I install the Win98 version onto Windows XP?? Or... are there other solutions? I think the Vienna application may very well be a Win95 (maybe 9 app. - SpiritofLight

This 8 port limit is a known problem with Vienna. The only recommendation I can make is to try using the Maple drivers instead of MIDI Yoke, as they only expose 3 ports. Maple Drivers: http://www.marblesound.com/

Thanks! Would one be able to install an older Win98 driver with the 3 ports on a WinXP machine? Or is there a registry adjustment to reduce the number of ports on the MidiYoke XP version? I did try Maple and it did work, but I only need 1 or 2 ports anyway. But I'm curious. - Sol

Windows 98 MIDI drivers are completely incompatible with Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
