MIDI Yoke & Cubase VST 5.1

Hi, I installed the MIDI Yoke Windows 2000 driver with no problems. I was able to see the virtual MIDI ports in the Windows Sound & Multimedia control panel and a program called Beatnik Editor. However, I could never get Cubase VST 5.1 to launch successfully afterwards. The Cubase startup window would flash briefly, and then nothing else would happen. When I uninstalled MIDI Yoke using the steps outlined on your site, Cubase then worked with no problems. Any suggestions?

I have heard that Cubase 5.x users should access the SetupMME applet to ensure that Cubase does not open both the Input and Output MIDI Yoke ports simultaneously. In other words, if you are using MIDI Yoke 1 IN in Cubase, disable MIDI Yoke 1 OUT, and vice versa.

Thanks for the response. Your tip partially worked. In Setup MME, if I disable all of the MIDI Yoke output ports, Cubase will launch, regardless of how many MIDI Yoke input ports are enabled. So I'm happy that at least Cubase launches in this scenario. However, if I enable even one MIDI Yoke output port in Setup MME, Cubase will not launch at all. I just get a momentary glimpse of the program startup window. I've tried disabling all MIDI Yoke inputs and enabling all outputs. When that didn't work, I did one at a time, but still no progress. In the first scenario that works, once Cubase is launched after only enabling inputs in Setup MME, I have no options for choosing any MIDI Yoke ports as outputs. Cubase has a MIDI System Setup window, but MIDI Yoke ports are only available as inputs, not outputs, which seems like a pretty obvious result based on the settings in Setup MME. As a result, I cannot assign any MIDI Yoke ports as outputs on MIDI tracks. Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am hoping someone with experience with Cubase 5.1 will jump in here...
