myokent.dl_ is the name of the compressed driver.  It is no longer supplied, as a few users had trouble with it.  Now we supply the fully uncompressed driver: myokent.dll.

I don't know what you mean by that?  Where do you keep hearing about it?

  Hey Jamie,

Thankx for clearing that up. Kiss

I keep hearing that on all sites I try to find the file on.  It even appears in the help file document that comes with the prog.

Thing is, I keep getting the "An error has occured during the installation of this device". "The system cannot find the specified file". Whenever I try to isntall the myokent.dll

The OEMSETUP.inf installs OK except for the usual driver signing warning.

Point is, I know where the myoke.dll file is, I put it in a folder and I know my way around the PC.

Can you Please give  me a (few) suggestion(s) ?? ??

Those 2 statements seem to contradict each other?

The myokent.dll file ends up getting placed in Windows\System32.

See the information on the RME site about problems installing on Win XP or 2000, and a resolution for it:

Thankx, but I think that win2k just does not support that program (i have a soundblaster 5.1 card and it does not work properly in win2k either  Sad).

I tried it on XP and it worked OK.

Tried the exact same installation on win2k and it refuses to install the myokent.dll

I'm sticking with XP (for the time being).

I have installed MIDI Yoke on several different Win 2000 machines with no trouble.  Any problems people have had are always related to the Win 2000 10 device problem discussed above (try following the link):

I don't think you get it Jamie,

  The myokent.dll just won't install!!!

I got the same error when i tried to isntall Hubi's Loopback Device on Windows XP (on a different machine).

   I just can't be bothered.
It works just fine on Xp, so thats where I'll use it.

   Thankx anyway.

Trust me, I get it.  The article discusses a potential problem with Windows 2000 and Windows XP, where all MIDI=, MIDI1= ... MIDI9= entries in the registry are pointing to WDMAud.dll or another driver, even though the entries needen't be taken up.  Unless you free up these entries manually you will never be able to install another MIDI driver on the system.  This only happens on a handful of system out of the millions, and it's unknown exactly what causes this.

It's fine if it's too much bother for you: I still need to tell others about this situation, and this forum is the best place to do it.  It's also discussed in some other threads in this section.
