Nothing technical, but form: the comments in the distribution about verisign/authentication warnings from Windows are appreciated, but I just suggest a useful message to initial users might include something like this:
the purpose of Microsoft warnings is protection from malicious code (viruses) found in distribution of mass market products (which specialized music software is not). The equivalent protection here is numerous listing of the program by many review sites whose editors watch for reports of malfeasance, and document widespread use without complaint (at least as to genuineness). The following sites have promoted the software (include favorite list)... This is the collective alternative to expensive commercial verification not suitable for donation-ware distribution. Downloaded software should also be scanned with anti-virus software before use.
