Mapping of ROLLS MP80 for Ableton

Hi all! This is my first topic in this forum, I hope you could help me with my question: I have a pedal board ROLLS MP80, and I would like use it to map my ableton, but ableton each takes the same signal regardless of the button I pressed, called it "Pitchbend". I think that the problem is in my midi mapping in midiox, because i haven't idea how configure it to change the my programchainging signal (my midipedal) to note signal (ableton certainly understands this signal). I hope you can help me, and i'm sorry for my bad english Thanks you! http://imageshack.com/a/img819/8944/yiik.jpg

In Live delete the map with the Pitchbend Make sure you haven't got MidiOx running with any Data Maps functioning between your controller and Live. Set up your Midi interface from your MP80 as a Remote in the PREFERENCES /MIDI in Live. Now get in MidiMap mode in Live. Click the control you want to map and now press the button on your MP80. This should sent a Midi message and Live will pick it up and map it to your MP80 button. You shouldn't need MidiOx in the setup. All the best Royce

Hi start MidiOx and use the pedal board as you want to. Cut/copy the data display from MidiOx input window and paste it in a message here so I can see what the pedal board is putting out. Royce

http://imageshack.com/a/img823/2145/g258.png I don't know if my midiox setting is correct (probably no). As you can see, when I press one button the notes are not activate... Thanks you for your help!

You are absolutely correct the Pedal is putting out patch change messages. I checked putting out PC (patch change) to Live and it does indeed think it is PB (Pitch Bend) . I would have a chat on the Live Forum about this. To get you going though I would just change PC to CC not NoteOn If you don't have a Midi patchcord driver like loopMidi or LoopBE or MidiYoke you can grab a copy of MidiYoke from this website and install it. This enables you to use the Midi In to the PC with MidiOx to change the PC to CC and then send it to Live via MidiYoke I will use Midi yoke in this example. MP80 -> Midi Interface -> MidiOx -> MidiYoke 1 -> Live (MidiYoke 1 set up as a controller in Options/Preferences/Midi) After installing MidiYoke start MidiOx and go to the Options/Data mapping page. Clear everything Press Insert Select channel 16 and ProgChg and -1 -1 -1 -1 Next line select Match Input and Ctrl and 2 2 -1 -1 (2 is breath control so it shouldn't interfere with anything) Click Use Input Value 1 (Pull) Click OK Click Turn Map On Click OK On the Midi Port routing window (View/Port Routings..) you need to link (drag the drawing of the Midi socket on the left to Midi socket on the right) the Midi Interface hardware input port (left side) to MidiYoke 1 on the right You should now see BF 02 00 BF 02 02 BF 02 10 etc in the Output Monitor of MidiOx when you press the pedals. In Live press the Midi mode button and delete the PitchBend line. Press a pedal and Live should recognize the channel 16 CC 2 message. All the best Royce

Now the signal is changed, but Ableton get every press button in the same mode... every button of my midipedal is "Note/Control = 2", and so I can't assign more commands to more buttons because signals ranging in contrast... http://imageshack.com/a/img841/271/q4v9.png thanks you for your help

I guess you must be wanting to launch clips. Try Select channel 16 and ProgChg and -1 -1 -1 -1 Next line select Match Input and Ctrl and -1 -1 10 10 Turn off the Pull value 1 This will give you a different CC type for each pedal. Live will map these messages. Sorry, its been a while since I mapped manually. I thought you could manually edit the mapping to use CC values instead of CC types but it seems like Abelton wants you to waste a whole controller per clip. Royce
