Sibelius and Sonar XL2 with MidiYoke

Greetings: I have installed Midiyoke to attempt to utilize Sonar 2XL (with a variety of soft and external synths) for routing all the Sibelius parts (instruments) to, instead of being locked into GM2. The Midiyoke loaded and runs fine, but I cannot seem to get Sonar to receive on multiple channels at once. Sonar only seems to play the currently selected channel no matter how many instrument parts I have in Sibelius routed to mutiple channels to match Sonar. I have tried tweaking midi settings in both Sibelius and Sonar, I set Sonar tracks in record mode, etc. Still no success. Any siggestions? Undecided

That is still one deficiency in SONAR: the inability of it to route to various different instruments on different tracks from real-time input.  If you record the parts (setting each tracks record channel), and then playback, it will do what you want, but not on live input.  Alternatively, if you don't set a forced channel in SONAR, you can route multiple channels to a multi-timbral synth on a single track.

Thanks very much Jamie... (yes I have recorded with multiple tracks for a few projects). I have read of your history with Cakewalk/Sonar. Do you have any insight as to whether or not the real time multi-channel routing will ever be available? Either way, great site and great products!!

I can't promise anything, except to say that this has been a customer request for many years now, and I am hopeful that it will be resolved soon.  You should consider asking the company directly to implement it (the more people asking for a feature, the better the chance of a request moving up the list), and getting your friends and acquaintances to request it too.
