So, 8 MIDI devices. To exclude any MIDI loop backs i use one MIDI-OX virtual port for input and one for output. Thus, 8 x 2 = 16 (All) MIDI-OX virtual ports are in usage. But also i have and wanna communicate with other devices via OX.   Is it possible? In the mean time you might install additional virtual midi drivers as for example   - LoopBe - Maple Midi Driver   which both together can give you at least 5 more midi inputs and outputs. On my XP 32-bit it works just fine with 20 virtual ports. Really, no new issues.
